Forty Six

Calla's POV

I woke up with a start, my breathing heavy like I had just experienced a nightmare. I looked around the room, taking in my surroundings. It was a spacious room with stone walls and wooden furniture, giving off a fortress-like vibe. The bed was comfortable and there were blankets draped over me, keeping me warm.

As I stood up, I noticed that the room was bordered by an open hallway, and as I stepped outside, it was foggy and I could not see 2 metres in front. A chilly wind hit my face and body. I shivered and wrapped my arms around myself, wishing I had brought a coat.

'this place is terribly cold, where the f*ck am I? Is this a dream? What time is it?'

Just as I turned to go back inside, I bumped into Lucian who had been standing behind me silently. I looked up at him, feeling my heart skip a beat. He looked at me with concern in his eyes, and I realized that he had been watching over me all this time.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice low and steady.
