“Alicia, no, please listen to me. Run away,” I pleaded with my gaze fixed on my wife who stared at Wade with determination.

“Let’s end this here and now,” Alicia said.

I watched Wade clench his fist with a cruel smile over his face. He was about to attack when we heard the sound of sirens. I looked towards the road and I saw many police cars approaching. We were all shocked for a while.

I looked at Alicia who seemed as shocked as we were. It was obvious that she didn’t call the cops. I didn’t call the cops either so who would have done this? I thought to myself.

“Shit!” Wade exclaimed. He glared at Alicia again. “Let’s just say you got lucky this time but we will meet some other time,” he replied.

The officers had already ventured into my compound and seeing this, Wade fled with his pack. Seeing they were all gone I stood up on my feet as I went after Alicia.

“Are you alright, were you hurt?” I asked while observing her.
