My mind is made up. I can’t forgive myself for what I did to Harold nor can I forgive him for sending me away from the pack. The longer it takes for him to contact me the more upset I get when I hear anything about him.

I can’t forgive him because I loved him, I loved my father and my pack so much but they betrayed me. The only person I couldn’t get off my mind was my mother, but I am still mad at her because ever since I was banished I have never heard from her. This was clear proof that she never loved me in the first place, none of them did.

“Marcus, I think the lions are gone,” Alicia called me out of my thought.

I peeped and found it just like she had said. “Okay, come on,” I said. I snuck out from behind the hill and she followed me.

We made it past the open space to the other side of the forest and at every step we took we were drifting further away from home.

“Maxwell,” Alicia called aloud. Her face showed that she was stressed out as she kept looking around.
