'He knows, Eddie knows,' I thought to myself, a little troubled while watching his car leave. His last statement left me puzzled.

It seemed like he was going to say something to the cops about me but I doubted it. Even though he won't stay quiet because of me, at least he will keep the information a secret for his daughter's sake.

Some minutes after he left I saw another car drive in.

"Alicia," I said in a whisper when I saw her come out of the cab.

I hastened to meet her and when we caught up I looked at her arms to ensure she wasn't hurt. "Are you alright?" I asked impatiently.

"I'm fine Marcus, you should be more worried about yourself," she said. I could see clusters of tears in her eyes when she saw the bruises and patches on my body.

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine," I replied. "What about our child, how is Maxwell and why isn't he with you?"

Tears rolled down her eyes as soon as I asked for our son.

"What is wrong?" I asked.

"I'll tell you later on, all you have
