FORTY TWO - KAILI

I was roused from my sleep by the sound of a shower being turned on in the next room. After a few moment of stretching, I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and got out of bed. The room that had been assigned to me was unremarkable yet cozy. It gave off an awkwardly incomplete vibe, as if the paint, furniture, and carpet had all been intended to act as temporary placeholders but had never been replaced once the purpose for which they were intended had been fulfilled. I wasn't whining because I'd been stuck in worse situations. It was simply... intriguing.
