Chapter 72 | Get Started

The door is open, the hallway is empty, and the pack house is deathly quiet. I whisper to Phoenix, “Is it always like this?”

He responds, “Yes, my father enforces a strict curfew. Even with him gone, people are too scared to cross him.”

I nod my head, my shoulders relaxing a little knowing that the likelihood of us getting caught tonight is even less than I thought. I take a step out of his room, and immediately there is something… pulling me. I’m being drawn to a certain direction.

Am I feeling the same thing that Magnolia was? If so, I understand why she wanted to come out here before everyone else. As I walk, I feel Charlie’s hand grab onto the hem of my shirt, making sure there’s no chance we will get separated. I take a breathe as I get to a staircase leading to the first floor of the house.
