The following morning, Cade was up early, too excited to stay in bed, he had taken a run the previous evening near Ava’s home, his wolf wanting to be near, having stayed hidden in the bushes, he watched his mate move around in her home, only leaving when she had retired for the evening, somewhat satisfied that she was safe.

The message he had received from his bodyguards was a bit worrisome, they mentioned scenting another wolf near Ava’s home, yet they could not determine if it was a passing wolf or something else.

Cade had also informed the residing Alpha in Ava’s town of his presence and that of his pack members.
