Chapter 53: The Holidays

I went out on a run to get rid of some of my thoughts and to get my body back into shape. Although I am still stronger now, I’m still not at the level of when I was competing in the den. I was tired, and my sweat was dripping down on the ground, but I pushed my limits and ran until I was out of my breath.

I stopped for a while to catch my breath, but the thought of knowing Amelia’s true mate kept creeping into my mind. Withstanding all of the tiredness that I felt, I ran even harder than I did.

After a two-hour run, I finally decided to go back to the packhouse. I left when Arlo was sleeping, so I’m assuming that he’s probably awake by now.

The country is currently under a national holiday, so Arlo and Devyn are at home most of the time. Most workers are also taking a one-week break because of the holidays. I hastened my steps so I could attend to Arlo before he could wake up.
