(Theia’s POV)
“You’re a bastard,” I whispered, and Liam laughed again.
“Yeah I am, but I’m also telling the truth and you know it.” he said with a smirk. “Listen darling, I don’t care about you, frankly I think you are beyond pathetic. But I care about Dominic and about what being around you will do and how it will weaken him. So listen to me carefully when I tell you this.” He leaned forward in the seat again.
“This joke was all his idea, and he picked you out himself. He was the one with the idea to hack your computer. It was on his order.” I stared at him, feeling all the feelings of despair.
I tried to sit up. I needed to get out of here. I couldn’t be around all this an
(Dominic’s POV) “I don’t ever want to see you again,” I sat in the car, unable to drive away. Those words were rolling around in my head, over and over. I had watched Theia go into the apartments around thirty minutes ago. I watched in hope that she would turn back, and then tell me that she didn’t mean it. But she didn’t. She didn’t ever want to see me again. It wasn’t a rejection, but it might as well have been for how much my heart was hurting right now. Finally, I started the car and drove back to the apartment. It was quiet when I got there. Liam had gone to bed in one room and Isabella had taken a guest room. She had driven four hours in the middle of the night to get here. The least I could do was let her rest for a while before she had to drive back. My mobile phone rang, and I looked down, hoping it would be Theia, but it wasn’t. The caller ID said that it was my sister, Leah. I let the call ring off. I didn’t want to spe
(Theia’s POV) *** Six Weeks Later *** I sat at my desk and sighed. I had been sitting staring at a blank screen for about an hour. It had been the same for the last six weeks or so, ever since… I couldn’t even think about the whole thing without feeling like a complete idiot. I had spent the first three days or so in bed, constantly crying and refusing to move. Finally, Naya had got annoyed and tipped my mattress up. I had hit the floor with a bang and an ouch, but neither she nor Harlow would let me go back to bed. I finally told them what happened, and they were furious, and rightly so. Naya wanted to plot some revenge on him, but all I wanted to do was to forget it ever happened. We opted for planning a girl’s night out instead and two weeks after, I was standing outside a nightclub looking at the entrance in horror as the ridiculously long line slowly moved down. It was turning cold, and I was wearing the smalles
(Theia’s POV) “Come on out Theia,” Mark called in a singsong voice, “It will be easier for you,” “Fuck off, Mark,” I shouted, and he laughed. “Hard way it is then, babe,” he said. I watched as he began whispering and then I swore his hand glowed and with a wave of his hand, the table flew across the room. I screamed as I tried to back away. “Aw, come on Theia,” Mark mocked as he slowly moved towards me, “Don’t be like that,” I could tell that he was playing a cat and mouse game and was backing me into a corner. “Someone is coming for me,” I hissed at him and he just laughed again. “I wonder if they will get here on time,” he said, “Or if you and I will be long gone by then,” Oh my god, he was planning on kidnapping me. “Gone where?” I thought if I kept him talking, then Leah could get here in time. “There are some powerful people who would pay a tidy sum for something like you,” he rep
(Theia’s POV) I woke up in the morning feeling more rested than I ever did. Although I could still feel the ache of when Mark attacked me yesterday. I looked at the empty space beside me and sighed. The dog must have left during the night. I didn’t know why, but that made me feel so sad. Of course, that was silly. It wasn’t like I could keep him or anything. Pets were prohibited in the apartments. Plus, I was sure that I was going to have enough explaining to do when I called my landlord about the damage from yesterday. I stretched in bed, mentally assessing where it hurt. I wondered if it was worth taking a hot bath with some oils to try to ease my aches and pains as I got out of bed. I was still dressed in my clothes from yesterday, so I would at least need to shower. I walked out into the living area and gasped. Leah was casually sitting on the sofa watching TV with a hot cup of something in her hand. But what amazed me was the look of the a
(Theia’s POV)Leah didn’t leave me alone for the next couple of days. I couldn’t really do much, anyway. That last seizure had hit me hard, and I was still feeling drained from it. I did notice that I didn’t have the usual urge to write it down. It was like telling Dominic was enough. But I spent most of the time in bed or on the sofa, with a bucket beside me, as I couldn’t stop being sick.“Maybe you have a stomach bug,” Leah suggested after bringing the bucket back to me. The woman was a saint, with her cleaning up after me, and getting me food and keeping me company.“Yeah, maybe,” I said as she sat back on the sofa and started the random movie.“You know you don’t have to hang around with me,” I said. “I’m sure you have plenty of friends and plenty of more fun stuff to do than to look after my weak ass self.” Leah pulled a scowl
(Theia’s POV) I watched Dominic’s face as I asked. I saw a flicker of something that was too quick to tell what it was. I was already nervous; I mean, this could go one way or another. The guy could think that I was a crazy person accusing him of being a mythical beast, or he could be the not so mythical beast and then have to kill me to keep his secret identity. The more the silence grew between us, the more I was starting to think that I had really fucked up. “Oh, for goodness’ sake will you at least put me out of my misery either way,” I said with a loud sigh. “Say something.” Dominic just quirked his eyebrow at me and I shrugged. “I was trying to gauge your question,” he finally said. “What do you mean?” I asked. My head was really starting to hurt. “Well, do you think I am a werewolf?” he asked. “and if you did think that, how would you react if it was true?” “Leah called you Alpha,” I said, and he nodded, “and I wa
(Theia’s POV)Dominic stayed over that night. Nothing happened, we just laid in bed together. It felt so nice to fall asleep and wake up with Dominic’s arms around me. When we got up, Dominic helped me to pack a bag with a few things.“Pack enough for a week or so,” he said. “If we need any more I can send one of my pack to come and collect, or just buy you some new stuff. But I want to make sure that you are protected.” I frowned at that.“Mark is already dead,” I said, “He’s not coming back is he,” and then I looked up at Dominic in alarm, “Oh god, he can’t come back from the dead can he?” I asked and Dominic laughed. But then he got serious again and looked like he was thinking.“Actually, you never know with sorcerers,” he said, and I stared at him. “Seriously, he was a sorcerer?” I asked, wow my world was just getting big
(Dominic’s POV)I jumped out of the car and ran around the other side to get the door for Theia. She gave me the side eye as she unbuckled her seatbelt. I could see that she was nervous about being here, but I knew that once she got settled in that she would love it here.Sunset Rose pack had a turbulent past. Philip Hanison, the Alpha before my father, had been a tyrant. He had treated his pack like animals, especially the omega ranks. My father had joined the pack after meeting my mother, who was Philip’s sister, at a mating ball. My father had rebelled against Philips’ awful ways and, with the help of the majority of the pack, had managed to challenge him for the Alpha title. Philip lost the challenge and had been exiled and had his Alpha rank stripped. But my father had worked hard before I was born to turn the pack around and turn it into an amazing place that werewolves wanted to be a part of. And at just short of 12
