Chapter 19
(Theia’s POV)
I woke up in the morning feeling more rested than I ever did. Although I could still feel the ache of when Mark attacked me yesterday. I looked at the empty space beside me and sighed. The dog must have left during the night. I didn’t know why, but that made me feel so sad. Of course, that was silly. It wasn’t like I could keep him or anything. Pets were prohibited in the apartments. Plus, I was sure that I was going to have enough explaining to do when I called my landlord about the damage from yesterday.
I stretched in bed, mentally assessing where it hurt. I wondered if it was worth taking a hot bath with some oils to try to ease my aches and pains as I got out of bed. I was still dressed in my clothes from yesterday, so I would at least need to shower. I walked out into the living area and gasped.
