Why can’t you trust me?
It was all I could think of as I stared at her eyes. We both knew that the conversation was far from progressing as both of us fought to stand our ground. Nevertheless, I still hoped I could change her mind even just for a brief moment.
However, my expectations once again failed me. In the end, her untrusting gaze made me realize that she was still out of my reach. Unconsciously, I lost my grip and she hastily pulled her hand back to her sides.
“Do you think I'm dumb? Why would I be honest towards my target?”
