Chapter 63

LORRAINE'S POV

One morning, I returned from fetching water at the stream. When I stepped through the door, I called out the names of my boys. To my surprise, there was no response. I looked round the bunker in fear. Alex and Aiden weren't here. I dropped the buckets and went outside to check the backyard. Still, they were nowhere to be found.

"Alex!" I called out "Becca! Aiden"

I was just about to go somewhere else to look for them when I sighted them walking towards the house. They had sad expressions on their faces. I could tell they were scared. Becca walked behind them.

"Boys, what are you doing out here?" I asked.

I knelt down and they rushed into my arms.

Becca smiled at me "I decided to take them out for a walk"

"Why? They still aren't feeling well. You know they're not strong enough to be going around"

"I thought the same thing but they really wanted to go out"

"That's not true" Aiden said "We never said so"

I looked at Aiden then at Becca.

"What?"
