Chapter 69

LORRAINE'S POV

That night, I grabbed my sons and we huddled together. I rocked them till they fell asleep. They cried so much that their voices got hoarse. They were frightened to the core. I had never seen them this scared. I'd be scared too if I was woken up in the middle of the night and was told that I had to run. I did my best to comfort them. Finally, they fell asleep.

Gently, I placed them on the floor. I kissed their foreheads. I was glad that they had finally fallen asleep. We would stay here till morning. By morning, everything would be calmer then we would return home.

As soon as I made sure they were asleep, I stood up. Becca's words echoed in my head. I couldn't believe she would say that or even think about it. It made me wonder what she would have done if I hadn't come home in time.

Becca stood, leaning on the wall of the cave. She faced the entrance, looking deep in thought.

"Becca" I called her.

She turned to me "Yes Lorraine"
