Chapter 27

The thought of being seen by Alpha Gabriel paralyzed me. I knew I had to move quickly, so I turned around and sprinted back to find Alice.

"What got you all anxious?" she had asked me when I finally tracked her down.

"I feel ill, Alice. I thought I was fine since my injuries disappeared, but I feel faint now," I lied.

"Oh no, honey! What can I do to help?" Alice had asked, looking concerned.

I felt bad about lying to her, but I had no choice. "Would you mind delivering these snacks and drinks to the counsel room? Alpha Xavier has a guest there and..."

"Say no more," Alice stopped me. "I have your back."

I released a sigh of relief as she took the tray off my hand and went to deliver the food.

So now, here I am, lying in bed. My heart is still pounding as I remember hearing Alpha Gabriel's voice in that room.

It was him. I know it.

My heart pounds as I wonder what will happen now. I had created such a safe haven for myself in this pack, but now, I am not so sure anymore. I wonder how
