Chapter 30

Alpha Xavier's voice is soft but deep with concern as he inquires, "Are you okay?" His gaze is unwavering, and his expression is filled with sympathy.

I shake myself back into the present. "Yes," I reply, "I'm fine."

His lips curl into a mysterious grin, "Why do you look like you are a deer caught in front of headlights?" he asks.

"Huh? No, I am fine, really," I insist.

"Come to my room later tonight. There are things I need to discuss with you," he says with a hint of mystery.

I wonder what he wants to talk to me about, but I have a feeling it won't be a light conversation. Something about the way he uttered those words made me dread the conversation we were about to have. I have a feeling it isn't going to be something pleasant, and I don't want to face whatever it is that he wants to talk about.

But I couldn't ignore the Alpha's order, so I went to his room later, just as he asked.

I am scared of what will happen, of what he may ask me to do. But I have no choice.
