And here I was, sprinting down the corridor like a crazed barefoot maniac. Not the first time I've fled from Alpha Xavier, but definitely the first time it's been out of sheer embarrassment.

I can't believe I kissed him!

Well, it wasn't our first kiss but still, what on Earth possessed me?!

'Don't be so hard on yourself, Victoria. That was a pretty good way to distract him,' Liliana says.

'He's gone for now. You have to trust me,' Liliana insists.

"Maybe he is, but I know he'll return soon," I counter. I need to get back to my room and drink some potion immediately.

But luck is not on my side today.
