Chapter 39

I did it.

I rejected Alpha Xavier.

I didn't have the guts to stay and watch his reaction, so I ran away right away. Hopefully, he is not too angry at me. If anything, he should be relieved as he didn't have to reject me first. Who would want to have a servant as his mate anyway, right?

'I cannot believe you rejected him and left him like that. What is the matter with you, girl!' my wolf scolds me.

"It's for the best," I reply.

I couldn't go into my room because I knew Alpha Xavier would follow me there. So I ran to the forest instead.

A wild panic surges through me as I enter the forest. With every step I take, my heart thumps faster and faster until I'm sure it will burst out of my chest. The steady rustle of leaves in the trees fails to soothe me. They say finding one's fated mate is a rare gift, yet here I am, running away from mine.

She is really getting annoying. He has proved he can protect her, and is willing to do so. JUST YELL HIM ALREADY...before Gabriel trucks him as captures you.
