They were about to give up when they felt a strong hand clasp theirs and pull them upwards. Luna and Phillip raised their heads to see Aric and Ophelia, their features solemn.

"We won't let you fall," Aric said emphatically, his grasp on their hands tight.

They struggled together against the darkness, pushing back with all their strength. It was a struggle of wills, with each passing second seeming to last forever. But, gradually, they began to climb, breaking free from the abyss.

They finally emerged into the light, panting for air. Luna and Phillip were taken aback when they realized they were no longer in the dark world. They had returned to their world, surrounded by familiar sights and sounds.
