Another guard walked past. Isabella looked up, startled like she was before. She moved into the comfort of the sofa, pulling her legs with her in fear. This was a bad idea. She should have listened to her friend, Iora, when they discussed in the morning about her quest to seek for the vacant position of a maid for the alpha in Moonrise pack. The first thing that scared Isabella was the fact that she hadn't knocked yet before the invitation to come in. The second was the voice that sent shivers down her spine. She took in air that would be sufficient for her stay in the room before slowly pushing the door and stepping in. She found herself in another world. The room was darker than the corridor, and more spacious. Everything screamed of masculinity: the dark walls, comfy sofas at all corners of the room, dark-brown curtains that completely kept out light, a king-sized bed by the left, and a scent she couldn't discern.
