Chapter 51: Aria's Plot

My tongues were tied and I was speechless. I heard his question alright but I couldn't give an answer to him. Not that I couldn't form words with my tongue but I didn't know the right answer to give.

I was bothered about how he viewed me of course, more than I was proud to admit but then I was also worried about my fragile heart. It had been broken and I was still trying to fix it. Admitting I cared deeply about his view of me was only going to put me in a precarious situation and I was scared he could further damage my heart if he failed to handle me with care.

"So what do you say? Are you bothered about how I view you?" He asked again, as we walked together at a slow pace.

"Yes, as my Alpha I am but as you...maybe not as much". I said.

I couldn't believe I had just said that. That was not what I thought I would say. I wanted to say something like; 'yes, as my Alpha I am but even more so as you'.

I looked away as I realized my mistake and what I had said...there was no taking
