“Rosie, where did you get those?” She asks. I sigh.

“Melinda, I really don’t like talking about them. It’s not a happy memory, obviously, so can you let it go? Please?” She is staring at my backside, and I just want to cover back up. I think she feels my discomfort, so she lets it go and starts the water for me. I am thankful she doesn’t pry more. I am definitely not in the proper headspace to explain that part of my life.
