Chapter Fifty-Two: Choosing Sides

“That’s enough,” I begged Praya to release her grip on Raven. Lucia emerged from the kitchen, cleaning away the food contents that had gotten to the ground. She didn’t even care about the fight that was going on. There was no trace of sympathy on her face for Raven, and I honestly couldn’t blame her.

Despite being the one Raven wanted to kill, I couldn’t help but feel empathy for her.

The door to the house suddenly creaked open and I felt a fierce presence that weighed heavily on my senses.

When I turned to look, Devyn’s piercing blue gaze met mine and I felt my breath hitch in my throat when I saw the anger etched on his face.

“Praya,” I breathed out, “Stop it right now. He’s here.”

Uncertain about what to do, the moment Devyn’s gaze fell on Praya and Raven and his blue eyes blazed, I instinctively positioned myself in front of Praya, my hands outstretched like a shield.

I wasn’t sure of what Devyn would do, but at that moment when his eyes glowed, I knew he was about to do something
