Chapter Ninety-Five: Pathetic Coward

In no time, we managed to settle into the cabin. I had found an old rickety mini truck parked near the cabin. After I examined it, all its parts miraculously remained intact, and there was still a bit of petrol left in it.

I dragged the truck closer to the house so that I wouldn't be far away from the cabin where Gina remained. It was noon as I worked on its parts, while Gina sat by the porch in the rocking chair, watching me.

When I was partly done, I joined her, standing beside her as I scanned the area.

“Wouldn't it be nice living like this?” she broke the silence. Glancing at her, I noticed how bright she looked, and the spark in her eyes as she watched stared ahead.

“In the middle of the woods, alone in a small comfy cabin with the love of your life and your kids?” there was a tinge in her voice that I had never heard before.

I allowed myself to imagine the scenario in my head, and all I could see was Gina, beautiful and happy, with a child that looked just like her, on her hip
