The Queen's Presence

I never knew where my mother was. After she was fled by the overwhelming number of bats, the villagers helped me find her around the forests not far away. It took two nights before we gave up looking for her. Instead, I just placed a picture of her just outside our house.

Currently, I am looking at her smiling face with her sweet eyes and beautiful smile. This time, she was now on a frame. I would never see nor hear her voice again. I breathed in and out as I watched the rays of the sun rising from above, hitting its glass.

“I do not understand what you were trying to say, mother,” I said and tears stung my eyes. “I still have not met the werewolf that gave me a bite mark. And I do not have the intention and aspiration to meet him anyway.”

For a weird reason, I kept dreaming about the night the werewolf has bitten my neck. I did not want to overthink it, but it must have something to do with the voice of my mother emerging in my mind.

She wants me to marry Prince Ronald.
