The door to the room closed, leaving us three standing awkwardly outside it.

“Just what did she say?”

Silas pulled me a bit farther away as Cynthia noticed it and glared at him. She then strode further away, not wanting to associate with us.

That was better for us either way.

“I asked her and all she said was shallow”

Silas raised an eyebrow, “You mean the shadow assassins?”

I hit my forehead for not realizing the obvious. “Yeah, you should hit yourself more. You are growing an idiot day by day”

I rolled my eyes and saw that Cynthia was pretending to not listen to us, but her ears were straining to eavesdrop on us.

“So, they are just attacking council members and killing demon worshippers too. But why?”

“That is what we have to find,” I said as I clenched my fist.

Let’s leave. We have to go somewhere.

I said as I dragged him away from the hospital room. I made a mental note to meet Mrs. Bryant and check on her health again.

She was a kind soul and I did not want her ill or dead
