I received a call on my phone and I was surprised to see a name I thought I would not see soon.

Lucas Klout.

I looked at the screen for a moment before picking it up.

“Hello?” I said uncertainly as I heard the council head’s voice.

“Don't take that mission for now”

He said curtly.

I immediately shot up from my seat as I asked, “Why? Is there a problem?”

I asked and he replied, “We might have had an attack on someone from the council. For a few days, it will be wise to lay low.”

His voice sounded tense and I tried to ask again,

“Who was attacked? Please tell me.”

Lucas Klout took so long to respond, I thought he might never answer me.

Then in a barely audible whisper, he answered, “Mrs. Bryant was in an…accident. She is at the city hospital in Jundra.”

“What? Is she okay? And who attacked her?”

I recalled the kind hearted woman who was nice to me and my heart gave a pang. I did not want her to be badly injured.
