Alpha Ken

After a while, she found herself locked up behind the bars as those guards left the place.

*Crash*

There was a werewolf at the opposite side of her cell along the long corridor. He was an inmate just like her and he was smashing his head hard against the bars trying to get himself out of there. He was in wolf form of course.

The horrid side that he painted made her gasp. He was bleeding from the head with a lot of blood spilling on the cell bars as well. His injuries seemed to be healing fast and as soon as they did he crashed his head again at those bars.

*Crash*

‘Am I going to be like that?’ Evelyn bit her lips thinking that now that she was inmate herself she can be reduced to such a state. But she shook her head the next moment.

‘I am no she- wolf’

“Owwoooo,” he howled in anger, not being able to even faze the bars. If werewolves with stronger bodies than humans couldn’t get out of these bars how would she hope to do? She wanted to get out but all of her hopes had been for nought.

‘Am I going to be trapped here forever? Mom, please help me,’ she couldn’t help but miss her mother in a predicament like this. She is not sure where she is, but she can only hope for her parents to find her and get her out of this sticky situation.

She turned around to take a look at her cell. Her cell itself was pretty unhygienic with little light seeping through. It was dark and nothing like the cosy room she was used to.

*Sniff*

She sniffed the air only to find that there was a stinking smell that drifted through the air. What was this smell of? Evelyn probably didn’t dare to ask.

Evelyn hadn’t been in a lockup even back at her home place. But she couldn’t help but think how bad were these lockups compared to her home place? Are the inners allowed to have showers, how bad is the food? Such thoughts began to run through her mind.

‘The rooms are at least better back there,’ she thought seeing how dirty the cell was but she was delusional. She ran a finger through the wall and found it to be covered in dirt. She was supposed to live in this place? Well, at least it was better than dying.

Evelyn had already concluded that she had to live in this place for quite some time. The one who locked her up here had told her that she would be locked up here for her whole life if she was not killed and she had considered that possibility.

It was her very nature, she was easily persuaded by anyone. Even her mom complained to her a lot because of this. But in this situation, she wouldn’t if she would have seen the murderous stares of the wolves back at the ballroom. Given how bad her situation was anyone would believe that guard’s claim!

“Oh? We have a new face here?” A feminine voice came out from the darkness of the cell.

*Tap*

The sound of footsteps came to her ears as she turned back.

“Who are you?” Evelyn asked. She could finally make out her visage with the little light seeping through the small window.

It was a woman… no Evelyn was not quite sure. At least its appearance was that of a woman. She had a sleepy head with her hair in a mess. But if she hadn’t had such a mess she would be considered quite a beauty with her red hair and ruby eyes. The prison garments she was wearing was not enough to hide her prominent curves!

Evelyn couldn’t help but feel a bit inferior to her. The only thing she could boast about was that she was definitely taller than her.

“I am Mary,” she said. “So what were you put in here for? It’s rare to see innocent looking girls like you here.”

What was she put here for? How would she know! She was supposed to be drinking coffee with her inlaws at the moment. Why did she end up like this? But she chose to avoid the question cause she would probably sound stupid or arrogant if she claims ‘I don’t know.

“Shouldn’t I say the same for you as well? You are a girl too you know,” Evelyn raised her brows. She had mustered quite a bit of courage to finally talk with someone but her hands were still rubbing against each other. She didn’t feel comfortable at all!

“Yeah, don’t worry about me. I am forever sentenced here. Wanted to become Luna but wasn’t the Alpha's mate so tried to poison the chosen one before the marriage and before my wolf became subservient to her. Got caught and then blah blah blah... Whatever follows.”

She sighed. But most of the things went on top of Evelyn’s head. She was not much acquainted with the werewolf world’s common sense. Their ways were entirely foreign to her.

Luna was in short the Alpha’s mate. Being the wife of the leader of the pack the she-wolves became subservient to her and the others held a deep respect for her. That is the pack's rule and the werewolf’s natural response.

It was then…

*Tap* *Tap*

“Ah! Alpha Ken!” Maya gasped in surprise as her eyes followed someone standing behind Evelyn. Evelyn couldn’t help but turn around out of sheer curiosity.

Evelyn turned around only to find the masked man with two different eyes standing outside of her bars motionless without any words. He didn’t so even flinch giving him a mysterious vibe.

Seeing the man she took a step back. For all, she felt from him was fear. For she knew that this man held the authority here.
