Chapter 49: The Denial.

I glance at Mason and Kai as they both sleep peacefully, snoring softly. I hurried out of the bedroom quietly, it was a little noisy outside.

The storm has started, and the wind is blowing brazenly. Couple with rain drizzling and thunderstorms grumbling and reverberating on the ground.

“What is the emergency,” I ask Auden as I step into the living room. Zena, Roosevelt and Jason share a look at a photograph in Zena’s hand.

Auden doesn't answer, he walks towards me and sniffs all over me. I ask him with wide eyes, “What are you doing?”

“Nothing, you smell funny,” He folds his hands on his chest with attitude, “The border patrols found a family of hybrids. They are dead and torn apart and their bodies are dumped in the Pack’s perimeter. It's either a threat or the people of the Pack have taken matters into their own hands and begun killing the hybrids themselves.”

“And they are making their intentions known to me? That is ridiculous.”
