CHAPTER 73 – Burning

LISA'S POV

I'm burning...

I could feel my body heating up rapidly, but I don't know where it originated from. I'm not sure where it begins or where it ends; was it my neck? My wrist? My lower abdomen? I couldn't manage to figure it out. All I knew was that it was there and it was growing hotter by the second, becoming more and more prominent. I tried pushing myself up, but my muscles refused to heed the command my brain was trying to pass through. I fell back onto my back. My eyes had refused to open or were they open and I was surrounded by total darkness? There was no Jonas or Kayden to rescue me this time. I was all alone in this.

I wanted to writhe in pain. It was the only normal reaction to perform given my present condition, but I couldn't even bring myself to do that. I tried to look at my arms, but in the dark it was futile. I don't even know where my arms were in this darkness. I felt hot. I was
