Lisa's POV

Jonas had been driving for nearly twelve hours non-stop. I had no idea where we were now. I tried to recall from the signboard we had passed thirty minutes ago. Nevada, was it? We kept passing through states in a blur, and soon we would be out of states to drive through. What would be next then? Fleeing the country and seeking refuge elsewhere? I doubted if we could make it out of the country without more travel. The might outside mirrored my feelings. cold, empty, and depressed.

I suggested to Jonas that we disguise ourselves in some way to draw less attention, but he rebuffed the idea.
