FREYA

When Jacob said to get ready for going out, this was not what I had expected, I had changed into some pants he called jeans and a top. Then we met with the others outside next to something they called cars.

I am painfully aware of how much my dad’s people have missed by being cut off from the rest of the world. There are so many things I could not even imagine like showers in the house and stoves to cook over that don’t require wood. Most impressive was when he “turned on" the light. I was shocked, and all this was new to me. But Jacob has been amazing and very patient with me.

I looked at the car for a long time, but eventually, I got inside it, and Jacob started to drive. After driving for a little while, we were out of the forest, and not long after, we drove into a town. I had heard of villages when Dad’s people described them. They had gotten the idea from them to build better houses, but it was nothing like this.
