A Gold Mine

Quinn Magenta's POV

“A gold mine?” I heard from almost every corner of the room. I gazed at the guard who had talked first and I called him.

He ran excitedly and gave me the brown paper. On viewing it, it was a map drawn with pencil. It had to be a work by Morgan.

“What's so strange about this?” I asked unknowingly. I tried to see why the guard had raised such an alarm but the more I looked, the less I saw.

“See these paths marked red…” the guard pointed out. “This is a familiar path and it leads to this mansion. If you look at it closely, only three paths are marked with red paint. The first is this mansion. The second is the exact place where Lady Lydia was attacked by the bandits. The third is a location that I don't know. It's in the forest!”

“But why did you say gold mine?” I asked surprisingly. I was still amazed by the level of the guard's intelligence.
