Jojo’s POV

At this point, I couldn’t watch this execution take place. Lydia was my lady and I was meant to protect her. I dived with the chair and pushed the guard. His sword cut my back a bit but the ropes were cut as well. It led to struggle as I fought with the guards. I had to defend myself with the chair and I was able to do much. I took the first and second guards down while I protected Lydia. By this time, I had taken a sword and I was standing down with the remaining two guards.

“Are you okay? I thought I was gonna die!” Lydia told me. She was holding my shoulder with her left hand with a sword in her right hand.

“I’m fine but I should be the one asking that question, right?” I replied. I never lost concentration on those guards around us. I watched their every move.

One of the guards took out a whistle and blew. I knew this meant more men. I looked around for an escape route instantly. I could see a window that was made of wood. There was black tarpaulin that covered it.
