Ava's POV.

Alaric helped me to lie down on his bed, and I grunted again, making certain that I sounded as if it were real.

I wasn't indeed in pain. It was a fake shout of pain but necessary at that situation. Even when I had plan everything and it was going just the way I wanted, Alaric just had to be smart and use his intellect to decipher Lucy's lies.

"I can't get my temperature from you and listening to your pulse, you seem fine."

"Maybe you just don't know the body like you think you do. I said I'm in pain, and instead of you getting me..."

I muffled out a sound of pain, slamming my left hand on my mouth like I was trying to hold it in.

"Instead of you getting me a doctor, you are listening to my pulse."

"Right. I'm so stupid." Alaric said and hurried to leave the room.

I exhaled a deep breath through my mouth and stood up from the bed, then jabbed my fist into the air out of frustration.
