Like a couple

"You mean like a couple..." he said with a smile.

"Yes. Like a couple," I said and then laughed. "I know that's pretty silly of me to say, but sometimes I get really embarrassed when people call us a couple. You know?"

"It's understandable. Most of us have been married at least once before," he commented.

"Yeah and it's never fun," I replied, chuckling. "Especially when we end up dating each other. It's almost like we're in a relationship with each other when we're not. Well, unless we decide to break it off, of course."

"Of course," he replied and smirked.

"You know, that's the first time you ever answered a question without giving me an answer. Usually you just ignore me," I stated.

"Why do you want to know anyway?" he asked.

"Because I think I deserve a little explanation. I don't remember ever seeing you like this before. What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing, not really. Don't worry about it. There is nothing wrong with me," he said and smiled at me.

I smiled back.
