Chapter 4: Sharing A Bed

Azura doesn't have nice clothes. She also isn't have anything valuable to take with her to her husband's house. Her mother also doesn't buy more clothes for her. Azura is alone, with no money and no jewelry. The driver drove her to Vincent's house. He left her at the gate.

A middle-aged man opened the door and led her in. He was the butler of the John family. He brought her into the house. The living room is full of members of the John family.

Vincent is a man of European - Asian blood. She looked at his photos on the internet, not much different from now. He just looked at her, cold his face. She had predicted that he would not like her.

Azura bowed her head to greet her husband's parents. They also have no sympathy for her.

“Vincent is currently inconvenient to travel. Since you have become the daughter-in-law of this family, you need to take good care of Vincent.” Mr. John said.

“Vincent, do you have any ideas?” Mrs. John asked.

“I have no idea.”

Vincent agreed, and the butler took Azura up to Vincent's room. Vincent's room is large, but the decoration is a bit gloomy, with two colors, black and gray. There are no flowers in the room. The window didn't open either, making Azura feel uncomfortable. What kind of person is the owner of this room?

Seeing Azura standing blankly in the room, Vincent reminded her.

“You can put your clothes in the closet. You can put them in the same closet as my clothes.”

This person's voice is deep, but it scares the listener. She quickly put her clothes in the closet. Her outfit is simple, nothing new. Vincent looked at her a little suspiciously.

His parents say that Azura is Meredith's youngest daughter. Why is she dressed like this?

“Butler Nolan will take you to familiarize yourself with this house. Things you can do and things you can't do, he will tell you.”

Vincent's wheelchair is a specialized, maneuverable type. Vincent made his way to the desk by himself. He picked up a file to look at and ignored Azura.

After only half a day, Azura learned about the life of the John family. She prepared lunch for Vincent.

The John family didn't like her, so they let her and Vincent have lunch in Vincent's room. Azura didn't dare sit with Vincent. Seeing her hunched over made him angry.

“Sit down and eat.”

Azura panicked and obeyed him. She peeked at him, hesitantly asked.

“Is the food to your taste?”

Looking into her sparkling eyes, he rarely answered softly.

“You cook very well.”

Azura made a smile, looking at her like a beautiful flower. He had never seen a person with such a pure smile. Is she happy just because he compliments the food she cooks? Such simple?

Vincent feels this wife is good. Compared to Aurora, Azura is still easier to see. Every time Aurora looks at him, her eyes are full of honor, power, and wealth. But in Azura's eyes, none of that existed. What kind of person is she anyway?

Azura has a gentle and hardworking personality, so he quickly becomes loved by everyone. But she is still afraid of William. Every time she saw him, she evaded him. Azura remembered it very well. William wanted to harm her because she was Vincent's wife.

Seeing Azura like that, William's eyes became even darker. Is she Meredith's youngest daughter? Why had he never heard of her before? She doesn't look like a lady.

Looking at Azura in this house is also not appreciated by anyone. There is not even an official wedding party, and Vincent doesn't care about her either. William is disgusted and does not want to pay attention to her. If a person has no value, what is she there for him to take advantage of?

Azura living in the John family's house isn't bad either. At least she feels better here than at Meredith's house. But she also knows that being Vincent's wife, her life won't be easy.

In the evening, when she and he stood in the same room, the problem was raised. Two people, one bed, how to sleep? Although she is his wife, they have never been in love and are not even considered acquaintances. Now they are in the same house, one room, even a bed.

It's not her problem alone, but he's not sure he wants to sleep with her. Azura is very understanding. She hugged her pillow and went to the sofa. She thought she could sleep here. Vincent was also surprised to see her do the same.

“You sleep in a bed. I don't mind. I won't do anything to you either...with these crippled legs.”

Azura ran to sit in front of him. Her words warmed Vincent's heart.

“You don't talk to yourself like that. This was just an accident. You are still a very talented person. Besides, you still have me. You don't need to consider me your wife because I know you don't want to marry me either. You need to see me as a maid, call me if you need anything. I don't know many things, but I can make your feet.”

Vincent knew Azura's words were sincere. A good girl. But he's been through a lot. He can't trust anyone easily.

“Did you want to go to sleep?” Azura asked.

“I want to sleep. Thanks to you.”

Indeed, you cannot judge a person by appearance. Azura looks small and sick, but she can easily carry him to bed.

“You are so strong!”

When she was at Meredith's home, she often had to work hard, but over time she got used to it. So it's easy for her to lift Vincent.

Two people sleep in the same bed. No one said anything, but no one could sleep either.

“Azura, why did you accept to be my wife.”

“This question I should ask you is correct. I have no choice, but can you not marry me?”

“I don't have a choice, anyway. I feel better marrying you than Aurora.”

Azura looked at Vincent incredulously.

“Are you telling the truth? No one ever said I was better than Aurora. Your words are a bit unreliable. Since I was little, I have had nothing to compare with her.”

“Trust me. You are much better than her.”

The first time someone said that to her, Azura felt very happy.
