It was getting dark already, and Nora wasn't back yet. When I asked her where she was headed, the only answer she deemed fit to give me was that she needed to get supplies for my father's treatment. That was all. She had said it without looking back, like I was some kind of plague she couldn't wait to get away from.

I was sitting in a swing chair leaning by one of the windows in my room, waiting patiently to hear the sound of the car driving in—her car. This particular window provides the view to the driveway and garage. If she comes back, I would know.

I had decided to watch out for her from my room, as doing so from any other place would raise suspicions from gawking eyes in the corners. I didn't want any rumors spreading about me stalking my father's doctor who used to be my ex, although only one person knows about the latter for now: Justin.
