Nora

Aunt Katherine glanced at me and then at the door. The knock came again, and I rose to my feet.

“Wait, Nora!” Aunt Katherine said, halting me. “Do you know who that is? Is it someone you trust?”

I glanced at the door again. Suddenly, a thought came to me. Klaus has a spare key; I had given it to him a day after he proposed. If that was him at the door, he would have already unlocked it and come in.

My tense nerves eased a bit. I had wanted to go and tell him to find somewhere around and hide as this wasn't a good time. I could not risk him meeting my aunt; there would be absolute chaos if that happened.

I nodded my head and smiled at my aunt. If it wasn't Klaus, it could only be Grace or Beta Ken. They were the only other people who had ever come to my house since I got back.

“It is just my friend or her dad. You don't have to worry; they are very good friends of ours,” I assured her.
