Klaus

I called Nora and told her I was on my way to her place. The coast was clear now, and there was nothing my father could do anymore. Claudia was completely out of the picture.

I arrived at Nora's house by 9 pm. She opened the door, welcoming me, but I noticed she wasn't her usual self. She should be happy to see me, right? She should be very excited that we have finally reunited, so what was with the slightly sad expression?

“Are you alright?” I asked when we got into the room, dropping my bag off by the wardrobe, my gaze fixed on her.

She forced a smile, “Of course, I am fine, Klaus. Why wouldn't I be when you are here with me?” I spread my arms wide, and she came crashing into them. I hugged her tightly, inhaling her sweet fragrance.

Despite the fact that she said she was alright, I knew deep down something was wrong with her, something she probably couldn't bring herself to tell me. I didn't want to push it. With Nora, I have come to learn not to force her to say things. If
