Something was simmering on the wrong side of the fence after Katherina's words. And that was the behavior of the dark-haired boy, standing with his father. That struggle was literally adding more gray hairs to his already graying head. He turned him around, still gripping his arm, and with a growl, he said:

"You're pushing me to the edge, you hear me?" he asked, holding him tighter. "What just happened will not happen again."

"That's not for you to decide," he managed to break free forcefully, looking at him. "Dad, please, I have to go."

He walked past, and in that instant, his father grabbed him again, this time around his waist, their bodies pressed together as they struggled to move forward.

"Everything that's happening to you," he spoke, trying not to lose his grip, "is happening because you're acting like an idiot."

"I'm a jerk, an idiot, good-for-nothing," he ranted through tears, directed at himself. "Come on, father, let me go."
