I tossed my bag onto my couch before I sat down on the one end of it and Kelly sat on the other end. I sighed, "it's hard to stop," was the first thing I said to her as I placed my head on the couch for support and she held my eyes with a nod, "how have you been doing this for so many years, Kelly?" I asked her.

She frowned and began to play with her fingers, "I ask myself that question too," she admitted with a sad smile, "at first, I would hold onto his words when he would promise me that he would leave her.
