Chapter eighteen

“Tristan? Hi, I’m so glad you called” Ivy exclaimed

“Sit down!” He answered coolly and she did.

She took off her shades and smiled at him. He stared at the lady he had known all his life. Growing up, he felt that her niceness to him was just normal best friends niceness till he found out from her parents that she had a huge crush on him and they were hoping they would get together and maybe even marry one day.

He remembered how he had vehemently opposed the idea, he begged his parents not to force him into an arranged marriage, he threatened to pull away from his father’s company if he was forced into marrying her. His father had been angry, he knew he could not afford to lose his son as a major shareholder so he agreed with him. It caused a huge strain in their relationship but as long as he was happy and single, it didn’t matter to him.
