Chapter nineteen

She woke up screaming at the top of her lungs, the bed and pillow were soaked with her sweat and she was breathing heavily. Tristan was in her room in an instant.

She jumped when he opened the door but eased her mind when she saw his face. He sat down and pulled her into his arms.

“What happened?” he whispered, trying to calm her down. She began to sob hysterically, gulping between sobs.

“This nightmare… I've not had it in a long time… something's not right…”

She put her palms on her forehead, she looked visibly freaked out.

“What's wrong? What's the nightmare about?”

“I s—saw myself, I was lo—looking in a mirror then all of a sudden, m—my reflection, it just reached out and was strangling m—my physical self, then… then I woke up.” She stammered.

“It's just a dream…”

“No, it's not just a dream. At least not this, I've not had this dream in seven years.” She scrambled to get her phone from the bedside table. “I need to call Jane”
