"Oh Jean, it hurts me to say this, but your father is an ingrate," Fiona said to Jean.

The two ladies stood in the hallway upstairs right next to the spot that used to display Tracy's portrait but was now occupied by Fiona's portrait.

"Could you believe that he didn't acknowledge my bravery for standing up to his sister, I mean your aunt Emerald, when she visited Charles at the office?" She said.

"I get it that he doesn't like me. Besides, he has never liked me and would probably never like me for the rest of his life. And as someone who is married to a Parker, it brings me much pain to know that I am not fully welcome and appreciated in the family that I married into," she lamented.

"I do my best to put up with all the bitterness that is being shown to me for the sake of the man I married because he loves me," she added as Jean listened with rapt attention.

"But you see, I am human and as such, I have a threshold which means I can tolerate certain things up to a point," she said.
