“That’s not going to happen,” Belle said defiantly and she glared at her brother. For as long as she could remember, Lucas had always frightened every guy she got involved with and she was sick of it.

She was an adult who didn’t need anyone to tell her who she could or couldn’t see. “I don’t interfere with who you see or choose to marry, so don’t interfere with my life.”

Dave, who was the subject of the conversation, wiped his forehead nervously as he could feel the pressure getting to him with the way Lucas and Tyron were looking at him.

“Son, the girl is right, she has the right to decide who to choose to date. We shouldn’t interfere,” Tyrone said and both Lucas and Belle could tell that he didn’t mean any of the things he said.

In fact, his words made Belle even more anxious, as she knew her father was up to no good.

At least, Lucas openly rejected Dave. Tyrone openly accepting him meant that all hell was about to break loose and so Belle immediately stood up from her seat as she
