Chapter 77: The lunch meeting

Lucas opened his eyes and he turned to look at the time. He saw it was already seven o’clock. He sighed as this was one of those nights where he didn’t get any sleep.

Lucas sat up on the couch and looked at the child who was fast asleep on the bed. He had sent Samantha home yesterday, as he wanted to stay with Zendaya in case anyone tried anything with her.

So far, everything was good and she was recovering with any problems. When he was talking to her the previous night he could tell Zendaya was yearning for her mother but she refrained from asking him to talk to her.

Tomorrow was Kiandra’s pre-trial and it would determine a lot of things. Part of the things he hoped to happen was for her to be granted bail so she could get out of there.

He had taken care of her there by hiring inmates and guards to keep an eye on her so that no one would try to do anything to her. And as for those three women who had beaten her up, he had gotten a message that the three got into a fight and ‘killed’
