"It is almost one week, and your housekeeper is not back yet?" Stacy asked Carlton who was standing away from her, as she put her entire focus on the spinach that she was chopping gently on the chop board.

"Yes. She is spending time with her family," Carlton answered, while checking the fridge to bring out the carrot that Stacy had requested for.

"I am suspecting you, Carlton," Stacy muttered, a sly smile dancing on her lips as she sneaked a glance at him.

"About what?" Carlton feigned ignorance with a very innocent look, as Stacy's steely gaze rested on his face.

"You sent her home on purpose, didn't you?" She asked, her eyes focusing on what she was cutting this time.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," Carlton answered as he scratched the skin beneath his nose and above his upper lips, and looked up to the ceiling like she was not talking to him.
