CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

SCARLETT'S POV.

I groaned as I opened my eyes, my body feeling heavy with exhaustion. Monday mornings were always a struggle for me, especially after a hectic weekend spent cramming in assignments and studying. Dragging myself out of bed, I rubbed at my eyes in an attempt to shake off the remnants of sleep.

Law school awaited me as usual, and as much as I knew the importance of attending every class, sometimes life seemed to have other plans. Today was no exception, but I had to push through. I stumbled into the shower, letting the hot water wake me up and revive my tired mind. The routine of getting ready was a blur— brushing my teeth, applying minimal makeup because today for some reason I felt like looking pretty, and hastily dressing in a casual but still professional attire.

With my backpack overloaded with textbooks and notes, I made out of the house and the big guy drove me to school. The morning commute was chaotic as always, with people rushing past me and cars honking relent
