“You came,” The words left my lips before I could stop them.

“I’m sorry, I’m late,” Her gaze darted to the table that was already set, with Adams and two maids standing at the far end, waiting to serve us.

“It’s fine, never expected you’d show up,” My gaze traveled over her as I said the words.
