Jessica stood frozen in shock because she could not quite understand why he was behaving like this.

Was this the same man Rose had described? The one who had comforted her when she cried and made a meal with her in his kitchen?  The one who had gladly given her his clothes to wear and had doubled her fee for no reason?

The one who had protected her from his crazy ex and had written her that sweet letter? Was this really the same man? She could not picture the image she had gotten from Rose's story, with who was standing before her now.

How could they even be the same person?

Had Rose been lying? Had she let her come here on purpose to face this man who was shouting at her?
